Our Story
It all started with a simple paddle and a bit of curiosity.
A year ago, I signed up for my very first casual pickleball tournament and began practicing daily at McKenzie Dog Park. At first, I was nervous — as a new player, I worried about making mistakes or slowing others down. But what I found was something much bigger than a sport: a community full of kindness, patience, and encouragement.
The players at McKenzie welcomed me with open arms. They taught me, guided me, and made me feel that everyone belonged, no matter their level. It was here that I truly understood — pickleball is not only a fun and fascinating game, but also a bridge that connects people.
As more and more newcomers expressed interest but felt too shy to join strangers, I decided to create a group — a warm and inclusive space for anyone who loves pickleball. That’s how the “Dog Park Kudos Group” was born.
What began with just five people has now grown into a vibrant community of over 500 members in one year. We call McKenzie Dog Park our home courts — a place where everyone knows each other’s names, shares laughter, and plays like family.
To make pickleball more accessible to everyone, we started hosting new player clinics, friendly tournaments, after-game hangouts, BBQs, and holiday parties — all at minimal cost, focused on fun, friendship, and growth.
Today, the Kudos Pickleball Foundation continues this mission: to make pickleball open, joyful, and community-driven. Because here, every game is more than a match — it’s a connection.
